Solar PV Technical Design Engineer

ESE Group is looking to recruit an enthusiastic and passionate solar PV designer. The ideal candidate will be an electrical or mechanical engineer or hold relevant electrical qualifications with a minimum of 4 years’ experience in the designing of both domestic and commercial solar PV installations for roof and ground mounted designs.

You will join a small team of individuals passionate about renewable energy. You will be responsible for the whole lifecycle of each of your projects from full design through to specification and sign off of solar PV installations.

You will be required to carry out site visits and surveys for prospective installations of domestic and commercial roof and ground mount installations. You will be familiar with a range of panel, inverter, meter and mounting manufacturers. Your day to day work will be designing PV installations and as such you will be proficient using software including PVsyst, Autocad and PVSol for the production of tender documents and drawings associated with the submission of planning applications. You will have experience and working knowledge of dealing with District Network Operators and Independent Connection Providers.

You will comfortable working alone as well as a team and will be reporting directly to senior management.

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

★ Electrical or mechanical engineering degree or significant electrical PV design and installation experience

★ 4+ years in the design and specification of solar PV domestic and commercial ground mount installation

★ Proficient using PV design software PVSyst, Autocad, PVSol

★ Experience with CHP, gas and battery storage facilities

★ Experience of DNO application submission process and design requirements
